Description

In Area 1 to the west of the field, two Bronze Age ditches identified during excavation. The E-W aligned ditch averaged 4.74m wide and 1.18m deep. The N-S aligned ditch was 0.60m wide and 0.60m deep. Prehistoric pottery was recovered from both features. In central Area 2, a N-S aligned ditch and a pit. The ditch was 0.42m wide and 0.24m deep. The oval-shaped pit, 0.67m by 0.46m and 0.23m deep, contained prehistoric pottery, some decorated; animal bone; and quern fragments. Three urns were recovered from pit 20022. Two with rim diameters of 200mm and one with 240mm diameter. Two are bucket-shaped with square or flattend rimes. One vessel has figernail impressions.(B1).
