1591 map of Padbury shows a trackway called Stocke Waye. Visible on LiDAR as shallow earthwork (B1)

A trackway of medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as extant earthworks and levelled earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located on the south side of boundaries of gardens along Main Street, Padbury, and centred at SP 71667 30242. This northern end of this trackways is visible between areas of ridge and furrow earthworks to the south of the village and is shown on the 1591 map Padbury, it joins up with another trackway from Main Street at Downe Crosse. A post medieval windmill is visible on the 1813 Ordnance Surveyors’ Drawing of Winslow (see MBC11373) accessed by this road. Modern land use is partly arable and the earthworks of ridge and furrow, the windmill and the road have all been levelled and new woodland has planted over some of the area by 2003. (2-13)
