Description
A low rectangular mound of uncertain date and function is visible on historic aerial photographs as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field about 260 metres WSW of Chelmscote Manor Farm and centred at SP 89435 27308, a rectangular mound measures about 11.5 metres W-E and 120 metres N-S. Aerial photographs taken in 1973 suggest the mound has been ploughed. In 2005 aerial photographs suggest that the construction of the A4146 dual carriageway bypass has probably destroyed the feature described (1-3).
