Description
An Iron Age or Roman rectilinear ditched enclosure is visible on historic aerial photographs as cropmarks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field about 365 metres W of former Valley Farm and centred at SP 89260 25405, a rectangular ditch about 3 metres wide encloses an internal area about 40 x 45 metres. On the E facing side, a 3.5 metres wide gap may be an entrance. About 50 metres to the SE of the SE corner is a subcircular cropmark pit about 8 metres in diameter at its widest that may be associated but may be geological in origin (1).
