Description
Boundary ditches, earthworks banks and a platform of probable medieval and/or post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located in a field adjacent the former Valley Farm and centred at SP 89557 25200, an irregularly shaped platform bounded on the N facing side by an extant field boundary is about 37 x 30 metres at its widest points. Extending about 270 metres south of this are a number of linear drainage ditches and linear earthwork banks. Two of the banks and one of the ditches overlie medieval ridge and furrow cultivation, suggesting a post medieval date. Two drainage ditches and an accompanying bank bounds the eastern edge of the same ridge and furrow block, suggesting contemporaneity (1-2).
