Description

Pre 1880 cottage, former dairy cottage, set on higher land back from and orientated gable onto the lane. Two storeys with two storey rear extension. Shallow pitched slate gable roof. Now dominated by modern brick garage fronting onto lane. Important in terms of the scale, form and massing of the building as well as their prominence within the street scape. Form part of a group with other late 19th century vernacular cottages (1,3,5,7,21) sporadically located along Upper Hartwell Lane. A local note building within the Conservation Area of Hartwell (B1).
