- HOUSE (19th Century - 1800 AD to 1899 AD)
Description
C19, brick with slate roof. Left hand gable end, ridgeline chimney stack. Two storeys with 2 over 2 pane timber sash windows to upper storey. These windows could benefit from some basic maintenance and repair, but are otherwise good examples of traditional windows, contemporary with the age of the house. The ground floor bay window has been replaced recently, with a uPVC off the peg design which is considerably heavier in terms of the window frame and detailing than the upper storey windows. The door, in the right hand side of the façade, is a traditional timber door with fanlight over, decorative door surroung and projecting parapet porch over. The building is visually important in views along Little Horwood Road, and is considerable architectural and historic interest by virtue of its surviving original windows and door. The brick boundary wall to the front of the property appears to be a later addition and, whilst important in views, is of little historic interest. A local note building within the Conservation Area of Great Horwood (B1).
