Description

Gasometer present on the 1877 OS map indicating a private gasworks to Woodlands Park. Nothing visible survives (B4).
Adjacent building (retort house?) shown to west of gasometer on 1877 1st edition 25-inch OS map. Building and gasometer also shown on 1898 2nd edition 25-inch OS map (the gasometer is not labelled).
Building appears to be still standing and gasometer footings indicated by parchmark in 2020 aerial photo (B5).
