Plan Form - T SHAPED
AXE-HEAD, FOUND CLIVEDEN (B1).
TYPICAL OF T-SHAPED CARPENTER'S AXE OF ?C9-C14. CALLED SIDE-AXES, FOR TRIMMING TIMBER & CLASSED AS TYPE 3 BY I H GOODALL (UNPUBLISHED THESIS ON MEDIEVAL METALWORK). THIS IS A MEDIUM SIZED EXAMPLE WITH INTERESTING FEATURES (B6).
