WINGED CAROLINGIAN TYPE. UPPER PART DAMAGED BY CORROSION, BUT LOWER PART, OCTAGONAL SOCKET AND WINGS ARE GOOD AND SHOW HIGH QUALITY OF METAL WORKING (B1). NGR TO HEDSOR WHARF (B2).
A Carolingian winged spearhead found at Hedsor (SU 9186) in 1958; now in Reading Museum (Acc No 327-58). (B2)
