Description
Mid or late nineteenth century detached house, possibly built in 1850s or 1860s. Built in yellow stock brick in Flemish bond, with red brick detailing of quoins and door and window surrounds; gables and rear walls cement rendered. Two chimneys at gable ends, each with two flues. Clay tile roof. Rear lean-to extension probly added in later in 19th century. Shown on 1st edition 25-inch OS maps as 'Station Arms' public house. Closed as a pub in late 1950s and subequently used as house. Roof and chimneys collapsed on 13th September 2013 and building derelict. See report for detail (B1).
A non-designated heritage asset due to the building's historic, aesthetic and evidential interest; given its mid/late C19th date, architectural features such as its overall form and symmetry, attractive brickwork and windows and its relevance to the history and development of the village (formerly a pub with associations with the adjacent former railway) (B2).
