- HOUSE (Built about 1880, 19th Century - 1800 AD to 1899 AD)
Description
Station House is a two storey detached house, constructed c.1880 of red brick with contrasting stone window surrounds, timber small pane windows (original) under a tiled roof. The building sits centrally on the site and is largely concealed from street view by mature boundary landscaping. Although the history of the building is unknown its name gives the building some association with the development of the town. Whilst the condition of the building is somewhat neglected its quality as a heritage asset is apparent. The building is considered a heritage asset due to its age, the positive contribution that the building makes to local character and local distinctiveness, and its association to the evolution of the area (B1).
Appears to be one of the first buildings built on Tingewick Road and sited across the Buckingham to Banbury railway lines from the goods depot (B2).
