Plan Form - L shaped.
L-shaped group of barns. Older farm buildings (?C18) grouped around square yard, stables & 2 barns. Old barns weatherboarded with old tile roofs on brick & flint plinth (B1).
Grade II. Barn. Late C18, part demolished. Timber frame and weatherboard, flint and brick plinth, old tile roof. 4 surviving bays. Cart doors in second bay, with gabled projection to W. Catslide loose boxes along remainder of W. side. Elbowed principal trusses. Lower range attached to N.W. corner, along road, is part C19 chequer brick, part timber framed with brick infill and weatherboard cladding. Old tile roof, half-hipped to right. Included for group value (B2).

MAIN BARN - The east elevation has double doors to the south of centre and it is clad in tarred weatherboarding of various dates. Some of the wide wavey boards are likely to be primary. They are nailed, but the nails could be 18th century. The door opening is original, but the doors have been replaced. The lintel above the door has numrous empty mortices in its underside. This is indicative of the lintel being re-used from elsewhere, rather than the wall ever having continued. Internally there are chiselled Roman numeral carpenters' marks in the outer face of the wall plates. The building has been braced with two tie-rods. These are likely a 19th century addition to help reduce the outwards sag of the structure. The building has undergone substantial strengthening in the 20th century. This work is easily identifiable by the nature of the black stained wood. Collapsed barn to the south of the main barn. Historic maps suggest this was a continuation of the main barn.
THE STABLE - within the eastern half of the north range, it now forms a single structure with the milking parlour. The stables appear to have been built in the 18th century and incorporate an earlier lower building.
THE MILKING PARLOUR - Within the westen third of the north range. The prinipal rafters, queen struts, and all the studs above the tie relate to the current higher roof so must be secondary, albeit re-used (B4).
