Description
Trench 6 contained a sub-rectangular pit with associated postholes. The form of this feature suggests that it is a sunken-featured building (SFB). Further evidence of Saxon activity was also found to the east in Trench 18, where a pit contained a large part of a handmade globular jar, and in Trench 23, where sherds of Saxon pottery were present as residual finds in a later feature.
