Description

Blast Shelter visible on a 1949 oblique AP. Now removed. Identified by UK Pillbox Study Group. EDOBID e35403 (B5)

A blast shelter or World War II date is visible on historic aerial photographs as an extant structure and was mapped as part of the Aylesbury Vale Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18604). Located on the south side of the A418, Aylesbury Road, Haddenham, and centred at SP 473131 209508. The site is wooded on modern aerial photographs, and it is not clear whether the structure is still standing but a line of trees planted just before the 2015 aerial photographs appears to go around the site of the structure.
