Description

Earthworks of a complex of field boundary banks visible in 2010 LiDAR survey in King's Wood were confirmed by walkover surveys carried out over 18 months. Mostly regular square and rectangular fields ranging in size from about 0.5 acres to 3.5 acres and aligned NE-SW, but also more sinuous banks following contours were identified and interpreted as pre-dating the regular boundaries. Suggested to be the remains of prehistoric and Romano-British field systems. See report for detail (B1).
