NEOLITHIC POLISHED AXE HEAD. PETROLOGICAL ANALYSIS: FINE-GRAINED HARDENED TUFF OR HARDENED MUDSTONE. EPIDOTISED AND ESITIC ASH. SUGGESTED LOCALITY GROUP VI (GREAT LANGDALE)(B4). FOUND AT JUNCTION OF SHIRE AND CHALFONT LANES IN STONES THROWN UP ON BANK BY ROAD (B1-2,5). OS NO: TQ 09 NW 23 (B5).
