Only incident of note along section 7/6 of the River Misbourne (B8).
Middle Bronze Age Spearhead, 5 7/8" long with pair of loops half way down socket, from bed of River Misbourne at Messrs. Bragiss, London Road, Amersham. Donated by Mr. L.E. Pike, 8.5.57. Buckinghamshire County Museum, Aylesbury: Ass. No. 15.57 (B9).
This spearhead was found at SU 9619 9722 early in 1956 by Mr. D. Pearson, a maintenance man at Bragis's factory, who picked it out of the river silt excavated from a hole being dug beside the present course of the River Misbourne. Find spot pointed out by the finder. A 25" AM Survey has been carried out (B10).
Ehrenberg describes this spearhead as: tip bent; string side loops; ogival blade with lozenge-section midrib; slight traces of casting flashes on side of socket. 148 x 24mm. Class IV (B3).
