Description

REMAINS OF EXTENSIVE BUILDING PROB MANSION HOUSE OF BROUGHTON STAVELEY OR HOLLANDS MANOR (B1).
TRACES OF FOUNDATIONS VISIBLE WITHIN N MOATED ENCLOSURE. WORKED STONE (HOUSE OR CHAPEL?) (B2).
STONE FOUNDATIONS FOUND BY PROBING, PARTLY VISIBLE IN N SECTION OF MOAT (B8).
BUILDINGS SHOWN ON MAP IN NW CORNER (B10).
PLAN (B11).
Earthworks of rectangular complex of buried walls (structure 9) interpreted as remains of a formal hall house with internal subdivisions and a possible ancilliary building (probably a kitchen or bakehouse?) set apart to the SE, and forming the northern range of a courtyard, probably the formal entrance to the moated complex (B15).
