Dimensions - Length 0140 mm Width 0082
TYPICAL MID-ACHEULIAN TYPE. WELL MADE. THIN CROSS-SECTION. SMALL AMOUNT OF CORTEX AT BUTT. MOTTLED OCHREOUS PATINA. LIGHTLY ROLLED (B1-2).
MARKED 'LITTLEWORTH' AND MAY HAVE COME FROM GRAVEL PIT AT NGR, BUT THIS UNLIKELY AS IT IS 90M OD IN GRAVELS OF THE HAREFIELD TERRACE (B3).

(SU 9386) A Palaeolithic handaxe from Littleworth is in Aylesbury Museum (B6).

A handaxe marked 'Littleworth' in the Sericold Collection (Bucks Co Mus) may come from the gravel-pit at SU 934861, but this would be an exceptional provenance as it is at 300ft O.D. in gravel of the Harefield Terrace (B3).
