Description

SP 77962248. Moat, now nearly levelled; POND KNOWN LOCALLY AS 'THE GENTLEMAN'S FISHPOND' (B1).
FIELD VISIT CONFIRMS EXISTENCE OF LARGELY INFILLED MOAT. OPEN IN PART ON W SIDE. INTERNALLY IRREGULAR GROUND. FEW LARGE PIECES OF LIMESTONE INTERNALLY BUT ALSO IN MOAT FILL. SMALL FOOTING? =BRIDGE ON W SIDE (B2).



Nothing visible on A/P's (B3)
Now completely infilled but slight non surveyable depressions confirm the site. The name (auth 1) was not confirmed locally. Mr M Farley stated that it was given to him by one of his field workers, but not confirmed in print. (B4)
