Description
Dimensions - Radius 11m, Height 1m.
Salden estate map of 1599 shows a windmill in 'Millfield' at approx NGR; to the east a second hill has the placename 'Wheat hill' (B1).
Millknob Hill - a mound about 4 feet high and 60 feet in diameter. (B2).
Excavated during WWII to form an ambush post, but nothing of interest found (B4).
Mound with (excavation) trench cut into top. Almost certainly a mill mound (B5).
Windmill mound with circular trench 0.4m deep around top (B6).
A windmill mound of medieval/post medieval date is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data as earthworks and was mapped as part of the North Buckinghamshire Aerial Investigation and Mapping project (EBC18304). Located 230m north of Bates Close, Granborough, and centred at SP 76678 25766. Subcircular mound shows as an earthwork approximately 23m across with a ditch in the top which is recorded as an excavation trench. (7-8).

Tumulus or site of windmill on Millknob Hill, about 60ft in diameter and 4ft high. (Examination of APs (RAF F44/543/673 0032-3) shows that the mound overlies the R & F) (B3).
A grass-covered windmill mound with a circular trench c.0.4m deep around the top of the mound. It measures overall 22.0m in diameter by 1.0m high. Ground inspection suggests it is contemporary with the surrounding rig and furrow. Resurveyed at 1:2500 (B10).
