Description

SEVERAL HUMAN SKELETONS FOUND BY WORKMEN DIGGING FOR SAND (B2).
PLOUGHING HAS SHOWN THE MOUND IS FULL OF HUMAN BONES. 1 SKULL HAS DEFINITE MARKS OF BEHEADING BY SWORD. OTHER SKULLS, BONES, VERTEBRAE FOUND (B4).
More human bone fragments were discovered in ploughsoil close to the barrow in 1993. The estate was to be urged to leave a larger unploughed strip around the barrow (B9).
