OBVERSE: 'CRISPINA AVGVSTA'. REVERSE: 'LAETITIA SC' MINT:ROME. DATE: AD180-192. FOUND AFTER FLOODING AT BALLINGER BOTTOM BY MISS PHILBEY (BI2).


SP 91340349. A sestertius of Crispina (180-192 AD) found after flooding at Ballinger Bottom in c 1960. (Bucks Co Museum Acc No 22.60). Received from Philbey, Ballinger, Great Missenden (B3).
The source of the musuem's siting reference cannot be confirmed as Philbey is now deceased. The coin was probably found on her property, which was No 1 Wells Cottage, Ballinger Bottom, Area SP 9124 (B4).
