Description

DIRECTORY ENTRIES: 1907-1924 'FINCHER, H. BUCKLAND COMMON, BRICKMAKER' (B1). THIS YARD OPERATED BETWEEN 1900 AND 1961. IT MADE ORDINARY FACING BRICKS AND 'SPECIALS'- BRICKETTES AND 'WATER-TABLE' BRICKS FOR WINDOW-SILLS. THERE WERE 3 SCOTCH KILNS (B2). PHOTOS IN BCM SUGGEST BRICKWORKS STILL IN USE IN 1966(B3)
