Description

Old bridge crossed river at end of St Peter's Street (formerly Duck Lane) (B1), approx at NGR (B5).
Ref to bridge, 1227. Indulgence granted for repair of bridge, 1294. Partly destroyed in Civil War, 1644. New bridge built by subscription 1789 but superseded by new bridge built to west in 1832. Old bridge demolished (B1-4).
