Description

SPEARHEAD FOUND IN LOAD OF GRAVEL DREDGED FROM THAMES NEAR MARLOW & DELIVERED TO HATTERS LANE SCHOOL , HIGH WYCOMBE (B1-2).
BASAL LOOPED SPEARHEAD. LEAF SHAPED CHANNELLED BLADE WITH LOZENGE SECTION MID RIB, WITH NARROW RIDGE ALONG TOP OF FACE. CLASS II IA (B3-4).

Middle Bronze Age spearhead found in a load of gravel dredged from the River Thames, in the area of SU 847855, and delivered to Hatter's Lane School in 1949. It is of a type not previously recorded in Buckinghamshire. Now in Aylesbury Museum. (B7)
