Description

Field boundary and drainage ditches identified during trial trench evalaution. Variable orientations of the ditches suggests the potential for several phases of land us, with shifting boundaries and changing needs for drainage, potentially in response to changes in land use and management. Vast majority of features were shallow, implying a relatively high degree of truncation from later agricultural activity. Noticeable paucity of finds within features, topsoil, and subsoils (B1).
