This milemarker was on The Sparows Herne Tunpike Road of 1792. Called Sparrows Herne Trust after a road in Chalfont. Mile markers in heart of oak set up in 1764, then sometime in 1880s were changed to mileposts manufactured by R. Barrett to a model based on those on the Bath Road. Sparrows Herne Trust was one of the few trusts to change to metal mileposts so late in the life of the trust. In 2017 116 mile markers survive in Buckinkinghamshire out of a possble 230 recorded in historical sources. Some mileposts were still there at 31 and 37 miles from London, on the south side of the road in Tring and Aylesbury (B2).
