Description

Ditches and gullies identified in Trenches 1, 2, and 3 during archaeological evaluation. Roman quarry identified in Trench 1 existed as a negative feature until being backfilled in the 11th century or later. A substantial linear feature [208] contained a sherd of 11th-14th century pottery. The feature was later re-cut as a gully. Two parallel gullies were identified in Trench 3. 11th-14th century pottery was recovered from one of these (B1).
