Description

The boundary between Linslade and Soulbury parishes follows an existing hedge on a slightly raised bank. Five sections were dug by machine where it crossed Area ABC. In all sections a ditch could be seen running just to the south of the existing hedge-line. A re-cut was visible in 2 of the sections. In one section the ditch appeared to cut a shallow feature. The ditch cuts Iron Age and Roman features and an Anglo-Saxon origin is feasible, but there was no evidence to confirm this (B1 and 2).
