Description

Site E, located towards the eastern end of the Aylesbury Woodlands development area. A set of very indistinct anomalies. Appear to comprise a trackway and ditched enclsoure. The trackway is defioned by 2 parallel linear ditches which run on a straight north-easterly for at least 260m (B1).
Indistinct anomalies of a possible trackway identified by the gophysical survey were not identifed in the targeted trenching. However, trenches in the western part of the field identified truncated furrows on a similar alignment to the possible trackway. A gully and small pit were found in Trench 68. the gully, aligned nw-se, was 0.66m wide and 0.15m deep. The pit was 0.32m wide and 0.05m deep (B2).
