Map

Type and Period (1)

  • BARROW (Bronze Age - 2350 BC to 701 BC)

Description

Earthwork occupies the most prominent point of the ridge top. Although spread and denuded by ploughing, a sub-circular mound is still discernible. This probable barrow site may be the 'lost' site of 'Druid's Hill' (0587300000), a barrow recorded to the west Crawley Wood. The location also seems to match with a clump of trees on Grey's 1762 map of the Ashridge Estate (B1)
