Description
MR GUY NICKALLS HAS PALEOLITHS FROM THE GRAVEL AT GERRARDS CROSS, MORE THAN 60M ABOVE THE NEAREST POINT OF THE THAMES. FEW WOULD VENTURE TO CALL THIS A VALLEY DEPOSIT (B1).

PALEOLITHS (01:001) & NEOLITHIC FLINTS (02:001 ETC) KNOWN FROM PARISH (B3-7).
Six Palaeolithic handaxes have been found in the general area of Gerrards Cross. They are distributed between Avebury, Aylesbury and the Hunterian Museums and in an anonymous private collection (B9).
"Several palaeoliths" have been found in Bulstrode Park (SU 9888). No details given (B10).
Bucks County Museum Palaeolithic Index lists three Acheulean handaxes from Bulstrode Park, one of which is in Eton College Museum (Acc no 13.54) having been found in 1907, and donated by D H Littlehales. A further handaxe from Oxford Road, Gerrards Cross was presented by Littlehales, to Bucks Co Museum (Acc No 13 13/54) (B5).
A Palaeolithic handaxe found on the surface at Gerrards Cross was presented to Bucks Co Museum in 1952 by E C Rouse. (Accessions Register for 1952 lost) (B4).
