Description

Clipper Down Cottage was originally costructed during the mid to late 18th century as a pair of cottages. Constructed of brick each face being treated differently; the front of the house Flemish bond, sides English bond, and the rear, thinner bricks in a random pattern. A central chimney stack serving both cottages. During the 19th century alterations were carried out. The oriel windows are not original and probably date to this period. The exisiting front is also likely to have been added at this time. Likely with an identical porch to serve the western cottage. In the 20th century the cottages were converted into a single dwelling (B1).
