Description
Y and Z- Numerous linear and rectilinear anomalies identified by geophysical survey. Anomalies appear to extend south-east (B1).
Trenching identified an area of increased archaeological activity with ditches and pits identified. The southern enclosure ditch, 1.04m wide and 0.68 deep, with steep cut sides. Pottery recovered from the features suggests a late Iron Age to early Roman date, and several features dated to the 2nd-4th-centuries(B2).
CC – A cluster of pit –like anomalies, although interpretation is tentative due to the high background noise (B1).
HH – A short sinuous anomaly parallel to the furrows (B1).
II - A few possible pit-like anomalies in an area with high magnetic background noise (B1).
