Description

Geophysical survey by Archaeological Solutions in 2014 identified thirteen small circular positive anomalies, most likely representing small pit clusterss of archaeological origin (B1).
Pits, ditches, and a kiln were identified through evaluation trial trenching. The kiln was sub-circular, 1.45m long x 0.55m wide x 0.40m deep, with steep cut sides and a flattish base. Clay had been used to line the kiln. The area to the north of Slade Farm contained a small concentration of 5 pits, 2 gullies, and a ditch (B2).
