  • GULLY (Medieval - 1066 AD to 1539 AD)

Description

Linear sections of gullies, and pits forming possible stock enclosures. 2nd interpretation is that they may represent beam slots. All gullies 0.65-0.75m wide and 0.05-0.10m deep. Gully 3 is cut by Gully 6. Pottery of 18th-19th century date was recovered from Gully 3 and late 13th to early 15th century pottery and pegged tile fragments were recovered from the fill of gully 6, suggesting that these finds are residual (B1).
