Map

Type and Period (1)

  • CHALK PIT (Post-Medieval to Modern - 1540 AD to 1999 AD)

Description

Two possible former extractive pits are visible on LiDAR. Very similar appearance to the many dolines visible in the vicinity but with a banked rim that suggests that even if they had a natural origin they were later worked as chalk pits (B1).
