Description

An enclosure measuring approximately 50m square has been detected in Area 2. The interior of this enclosure contains responses akin to ovens or kilns, as well as pit-like anomalies. Linear anomalies apparently forming a series of land divisions were recorded within the southern part of Area 2/northern part of Area 3. Further anomalies in Area 2 may represent severely truncated ditches, perhaps associated with the possible land divisions. (B1).
Evidence of a late Iron Age to Roman ladder settlement were confirmed through trial trench evalaution. Two broad phases of activity were identified - 1st-2nd century AD and 3rd to 4th century AD. Activity from these periods was not limited to the area of the ladder settlement, with features identified to the east and west. A probable structure was identified in Trench 19 which may indicate significant activity within the site (B2)
