Description

A possible windmill mound is visible on LiDAR. This is approximately 140m to the south of the position of another windmill mound recorded in the HER (0023800000), national record of the historic environment (341018) and on the modern OS map. Mound and ditch truncated to the south-west by field boundary. Could alternatively be the result of some later agricultural activity, but it seems to be a likely candidate for a windmill mound. Similar in form to the one to the north. Mound is visible as an oval bank with a slight hollow in the top (not clear whether this is original or a result of later disturbance). It is surrounded by a ditch also visible as an earthwork. Cuts the earlier ridge and furrow.
