Description

National Trust SMR 152968. North-west aligned bank and ditch on the eastern side of Ringshall Coppice. 77m in length, 4.30m wide and 0.80m deep, the bank on the east side is 3m wide and 0.30-0.50m high. The bank on the west side 2.50m wide and 0.20m high. At the northern it stops abruptly at the woodland boundary, although there is a very faint continuation northwards. Wainwright's draft survey notes suggest Iron Age to Roman origin. Too large for woodland boundary bank and scale would suggest more defensive or territorial (1)
