- BANK (EARTHWORK) (Iron Age to 5th Century Roman - 800 BC? to 409 AD?)
Description
some of the larger less angular lynchets dating from the late Iron Age to Roman-British period. Their association with the double banked enclosure is a possibilty as elsewhere on the estate there is a link between the enclosures and the surrounding pattern of broad lynchets. Well defined north-facing lynchet marking the limit of former ploughing. 4m wide and 0.40m high. Broad but shallow nature suggests Iron Age to Roman date. (1)
