Description

Watching brief by John Moore Heritage Services identified a quarry pit on the north-east side of the site. An irregular cut pit, 5m long and over 2.5m wide, with steep sides, possibly for the extraction of witchert. This may relate to the earliest period of activity at Cedar House, No.2 Gibson Lane or for material to cap the garden wall (B1).
