Description

Linear [601] identified c4m from the south-western end of the trench. Appears to be part of a linear feature also recored in Area E. Aligned north-west to south-east and located in the same position as a linear identified by the geophysical survey. The feature had steep sides and a flat base and contained mid yellow-brown sandy-clay. No finds were recovered. (1)
A group of roughly parallel, north-east aligned, features identified within the area of the access road likely represent medieval furrows. A single sherd of unidentifiable pottery was recovered from one of these. South-east of the furrows was a shallow ditch which appears to be a continuation of a linear anomaly identified buy the geophysical survey (2).
A number of enhanced magnetic field linear anomalies have been identified within the dataset which may be of archaeological interest (b3).
