The road was not turnpiked and the milepost was placed by the highway authorities after the turnpike era in 1880s and 1890s along this C class road from Brill via Grendon Underwood to Buckingham. Of 230 posible milemarkers recorded on Jefferys' county map in Bucks, 116 survived in 2017. A standard design, called 'Bucks Pressings' by the Milestones Society was put up by the Highway Authority. 'Bucks Pressings' were plain steel pressings with two smooth white faces and markings in black paint.[Copy in HER] (B2).
Not recorded by Milestone Society in 2003 or 2010 - presumably missing. (B3).
