No. 74, Quainton Road forms part of a terrace of six Rothschild estate cottages, set back from the road edge behind metal hooped railings. Two storeys set beneath a steeply pitched gabled roof, the ridgeline of which runs parallel with the carriageway. Roof laid in natural slate. Three regularly
positioned brick chimneys punctuate the ridgeline. No. 74 is the only cottage in this group to retain its original timber plank doors flanked by 2 over 2 timber sash windows. Original 2 over 2 timber sash to first floor. Projecting brick string course between ground and first storeys. All timberwork painted in Rothschild cream and maroon paint. Other buildings within the terrace have not been identified as being of local note because of the loss of historic features, alteration to proportions of fenestration opening and additions of porches and rooflights. No. 74, Quainton Road forms part of a group of modest estate buildings of varying designs by members of the Rothschild family during the late 19th and early 20th century throughout Waddesdon village. A Local Building of Note within the Conservation Area (B1).
