Description

Sanderson factory constructed in 1927. The original building was significantly smaller than at present (August 2000), which has been extended piecemeal until it reached its current size (floor space in excess of 41,850 square metres). The building is a substantial 2-3 storey building occupying virtually all of the site. The area around the factory are fields for informal recreation used by the Sanderson employees, with a bowling green and ancillary buildings to the west of the current access road south of the factory and a tarmac car park in the NE corner of the site (B1).
Photos taken during demolition of factory and site clearance in 2002 (B2).
