Now broken up into several routes including this section old A404 near Marlow. PG dos not think gout route is historic just a 19th century epiphet 22 1/2 miles in Bucks. They replaced the old stones with an order of 50 stones with capital lettes then replaced these with 50 cast iron mileposts wih triangular top and Hatfield on top by Wilder and Sons of Reading probably in early 19th century according to PG. Also PG says the gout title is late 20th C epiphet. This was on the branch from Marlow up Knowl Hll to Burchetts Green. Connections with other routes in this in this publication. Marlow Bottom has replacement milepost called Bucks Pressing on this route. [Copy in HER] (B2).
