Former Beaconsfield Police Station, built in 1870. Domestic Revival influenced red brick built complex described by Pevsner as 'more like a factory or warehouse than a public building'. Comprises a single storey street fronting range with gabled two storey north bay and large two storey rear wing. Polychromatic brickwork to window lintels, including pointed arch to main entrance, corbelled out eaves and county crest. Hipped plain tile roof and half-hipped gables. Contained magistrates' court, police station and most likely accommodation for a sergeant. The building was reused as court offices
in the late 20th century and more recently as the county coroner's office. Source: Pevsner guide (vol. Buckinghamshire, p.172). Building assessed in 2014 as having medium architectural and historical significance, with an unassigned risk of demolition, and the structural condition also unassigned (B2).
